How to point your domain to your AfterWave hosting

Web HostingLast updated October 2026

If you registered your domain with AfterWave and bought hosting at the same time, this is normally done for you. You only need these steps if your domain is registered somewhere else, or you were told to change it.

  1. Find the AfterWave nameservers in your welcome email.
  2. Log in to wherever your domain is registered and open the domain’s nameserver or DNS settings.
  3. Replace the existing nameservers with the AfterWave ones and save.
  4. Wait up to 24–48 hours. Your website and email will start using AfterWave hosting.

Method 2: keep your nameservers and edit the records

If you want to keep DNS where it is (for example because another service depends on it), ask us for your hosting server’s IP address and create an A record for your domain and for www, and the right MX records for email. See Understanding DNS and nameservers.

Important
Before you switch, make sure your website files and email accounts are ready on AfterWave hosting. Moving the nameservers sends all web and email traffic to the new server, and any email accounts that do not exist there will stop receiving mail.
